Lisa Toth Violinist
Growing up in Detroit, violinist Lisa Toth studied with three Detroit Symphony violinists. While
attending Wayne State University on a full tuition merit scholarship, she was appointed concertmaster of the then newly-formed
Detroit Civic Orchestra under the auspices of the Detroit Symphony. There, she was privileged to perform under the batons
of Kenneth Jean and the late, great maestro Antal Dorati.

| Now residing in Rochester, NY, Miss Toth has played
with numerous orchestras, including the Rochester Philharmonic. Recently, accompanied by the Genesee Symphony, she performed
Beethoven’s magnificent Triple Concerto with internationally acclaimed pianist Isabelle Aubin and Julliard cellist Patrick
Jee.
Toth’s playing has been described as spiritual, intense, and many-hued. Her inimitable tone is fiery and penetrating.
She approaches her art with passion and daring. Her Hungarian heritage is evident in her soul-wrenching interpretation
of Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen (“Gypsy Airs”)
Violinist Toth and pianist Dr. Kevin Nitsch, a graduate of the prestigious Eastman School, have collaborated for nearly ten
years, performing countless recitals throughout Western New York. Their large repertoire includes Vivaldi’s complete
Four Seasons concerti, as well as sonatas by Faure, Franck, Beethoven, and all three of Brahms sonatas. Most recently,
the duo received rave reviews for their bravura performance of the brilliant Richard Strauss sonata.
The Toth/Nitsch duo embarks on an ambitious tour beginning this September. They are also recording a CD, including in it some
of their favorite works as well as new pieces and transcriptions of their own creation.
Miss Toth is currently concertmaster of the Genesee Symphony, under the baton of maestro Raffaele Livio Ponti. Toth is
also conductor of the Avon Symphony, an orchestra she founded in 2000. In addition to her very busy concert schedule,
she also has a private string studio of 50 students at her home and at Mobile Music in Canandaigua.
